After an interesting journey down the east coast of Malaysia i arrived in Singapore. Had time to refresh and do some internet things and than it was on towards an opening next to the Boat Quay.
Interesting pieces and an interesting crowd. Loads of mouthwatering food and red wine. The plan was to stop drinking for 4 weeks – plans are made to change! So red wine and finger food it was. Has some conversation with various ex-pads from all over the place. This was a great 1st night in the city. Tonight there is another opening and later there is free flow at the timeout magazine party which will turn into 2 for 1 after. What else do you want for a friday night?? Looks like Delphine know the right people in the right place and her way round the city – looking forward for 2 exciting weeks!

Delphine – you might remember her from my last trip to China

Well well – Cherating is still laid back – at last in the off season. But – i can not really see a reason why one would go there in the 1st place. The beach sucks and this is the main reason to go to a beach place – is it not??. So i did stay only one night. As there where no people and nothing was going on i watched the latest part of 24 and went to sleep early. The next morning i woke up early – got ready – AND – it rained. WTF???? So i got my stuff and went to the coffee at the other side. It was still closed so i talked to the owner for a few minutes till the rain stopped.
On to the main road and waiting for the bus to the next big city. After another few minutes a guy stopped and he drove me the 45 km to the Bus Station. Interesting conversation and a fast ride. Great – BUT we did arrive 10.29. And the bus to singapore left at 10.30 am – the next one is 10 pm. Fuck – i had to take the Business Class bus for MS 70. Only 2 more people on the bus. A stewardess for food and drinks – nice.
Did arrive in Singapore at 5 in the evening. The bus did stop in front of a expensive hotel and i had no idea where i was and where Delphines place is. Best of all i had no cash and did not see any ATM. Asked the guy that handles the baggage at the hotel and he changed 50 MS for 20 S$ – great! A minute later i was in a taxi heading for Delphines place – sometimes everything works out like clockwork
Well – what is a good way to start into a new year – an tropical island – why not?
So i went to Perhentian Kecil to do it different this year. No party and nobody knows – an easy day off.
Did stay at Coral Beach for one night (do not recommend that beach to stay – it is very nice for sunset and dinner!) Than i moved to Long Beach – the place to stay. Waves, wind and a long white sand beach that goes nice into the water without stones and stuff in the way. Turtles come at night to lay their eggs in the sand. Nice corals and fish on the one side and not to many people at the beach at all times. GREAT!
Did open the bottle of whiskey that Swiss-Chris gave me in Pai – cheers dude! – at the 13th for dinner. All in all i wanted to stay only for 3-4 days. Did stay for 12 and it would been easy more if only time did not fly so fast

On the way to the island with the fast boat – well 400 horses – quite fast but not as fast as the one in Chicago – wish i had that one here!

This is where i did spend most of the day – reading.

He took care of the place and did climb the coconut tree for fresh juice!

My buddy in the bungalow – did not like the flash to much…

This guy came almost every day crossing behind my bungalow on his way to lunch. The 1st time when i was on the is
