SAS staff was very friendly – the flight very smooth – so far everything looks really good over here. I took a shuttle bus for 1.60€ to the world trade center and than a taxi for 1.1€ to the hotel. Try and beat that!
Now – most surprising: blue sky and from tall buildings you can even see some mountains!!
Thanks to Olympia they shut down factories as far away than 100 km and put some traffic restrictions in place

A few days ago Scott Adams did a redo of his Dilbert site. Which is fine with me cause i look at the everyday dose of Dilbert in a widget on my mac to save me opening his web site. But this one did not work anymore and today i went to apple.com to do some research. sure enough there was a newer widget than mine but it was from Febuary so no help. Than i discovered freeComics and sure enough this one beats all the others!
You have 100 (!) free comics to look at all in one widget.
sweet!!
Get the freeComics widget for Mac here!
PCmag.com (i guess this is the biggest PC magazine out there) did a shoot out with mac os 10.5, xp, vista and Ubuntu – here ist the roundup:
The Victor
Mac OS 10.5.1 (Leopard)
In our First Looks review of Leopard, we gave it a great score (4.5), and despite some disagreement —you expected complete unanimity?—we again found it worthy (with a final score of 4). Mac OS 10.5.1 is the product to pick for our mythical average user who wants something secure, easy to install, and easy to master. That you can also run Windows and Ubuntu on today’s Intel-based Macs—enabling you to use all these OSs on the same PC—is just gravy.
well i told you!!
My dead Sony K800i is back and running again! They changed a lot of parts but it was free – now i only have to use that Nokia as a second Phone
My Fuji Finepix F11 is back and running again! They changed the display and cleaned the camera and it was free too! Great
My new 8 core MacPro should come 2day or tomorrow – i have the new keyboard since a few days to test already. The keys are much like the one on my MacBook. If you have a chance – go into an Apple Shop and try one for yourself!
Downloading the weekly free song from iTunes i came along a free movie as well. I did see pictures of it but it is well worht to watch this 40 minute show! Here is what the description says: Take a look at the men who undertake one of the most dangerous jobs on earth–ice road truckers. In the thick of winter truckers in giant eighteen wheelers carry equipment and supplies to miners in the Canadian tundra. In this episode, road construction crews begin the process of creating the most unique passage in the world—a 350-mile highway of ice. Truck drivers from all over North America make the long journey to Yellowknife, Canada for their chance at some quick cash. When the temperature is cold enough and the ice is thick enough, the big rigs get ready to roll.

and the debate heat’s up. does the world need another phone maker? will this one be a good phone? does it suck? i found this blog entry today and it is kind a funny so i like to share it with you

And from the land of the Finns and the land of the vikings cameth phones that looked like soapbars from hell. And they carrieth the most hated chicklet-keys from days long forth. And they made you listen out 8 voice-mails before to get to the one you wanted to hear. And they made you look like the spastic men, tying to send text-mail whilst traveling fingering the chicklets. And worst of all, these phones looketh like like a Moulines kitchen-mixer from the years sixty of the 20th century past.
And yes… Go home and play with your brown Zune, moron.

Comic Relief: The One True Phone
“And on the 29th day of the sixth month, when the sun was at its lowest point in the sky, the Phones appeared, one after another, each in its tasteful white box without any adornment whatsoever. And the People rejoiced, for they had been waiting a long time and could wait no longer.”
Thus begins the Netly News’ walkup to the iPhone release, perhaps the funniest thing I’ve read on the subject (and I’m not just saying this because the author is my boss).
I know you’re probably too busy buying Apple (AAPL) puts or selling calls or whatever it is you do to click on the link below, so I’ll give you one more graph for free:
Next came the fan boys and the overweight and the incorrect wearers of patterned shirts and the others who were decried as social pariahs. To them, the faithful, the Phone was celebrated and hailed as no other Phone before it, nor any other kind of consumer electronic gear for that matter, except maybe the Tivo. And the Phone made them cool for a while, which was a miracle. “Yea, the Phone has brought peace and happiness to our lives!” wrote Gizmodo, and a record of pageviews was logged.
