All new Dilbert – Broken widget

Posted by marc on April 23rd, 2008

A few days ago Scott Adams did a redo of his Dilbert site. Which is fine with me cause i look at the everyday dose of Dilbert in a widget on my mac to save me opening his web site. But this one did not work anymore and today i went to apple.com to do some research. sure enough there was a newer widget than mine but it was from Febuary so no help. Than i discovered freeComics and sure enough this one beats all the others!
You have 100 (!) free comics to look at all in one widget.
sweet!!

He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

Posted by marc on March 18th, 2007

In 1889, William Butler Yeats met Maud Gonne, an actress and revolutionary, who became his great love for the next 20 years. She was the inspiration of his life and his imagination. However, he never received her love in return.

He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

had i the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
enwrought with golden and silver light,
the blue and the dim and the dark cloths
of night and light and the half-light,
i would spread the cloths under your feet:
but i, being poor, have only my dreams;
i have spread my dreams under your feet;
tread softly because you tread upon my dreams.

The short has been made by Heebok Lee and showcased all around the world, from One Dot Zero to Siggraph. And it’s great.

The music comes from Escaflowne original sound track by Hajime Mizoguchi and Yoko Kanno. Voice by David Winters.

Lee has a few more mov’s on his page

You can watch the video fullscreen if you leftclick into the movie window – there is a quicktime mov on his side – quality is much better of course…
