The Hindu Temple in Kalpa

The Hindu Temple in Kalpa is behind the Buddhist Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar monastery. It is called Narayan Nagini Temple. And it is well worth to have a look. The outer walls and the front door of the temple is finely carved. They also have lots of animal sculptures on the roofs. Together with the Kinnaur Kailash snow-capped mountain in the back it is perfect on a clear day to take some pictures.

Kalpa – Little Village with a Big View

Kalpa
Travelling behind the Inner Line

After our party evening all 4 of took the bus up to Kalpa. I had the finger advantage and could put my bag inside the bus. And boy that bus was full. People did sit on the roof at one point. But when we reached the Bus Stand in Kalpa it was only a hand full of people left. All the restaurants were closed. The two sons of a restaurant owner did crash a bus full of passengers down a mountain road and everybody did die. So half of the village was mourning the loss. So we went to a hotel for breakfast. Everything was quite cheap and to our surprise quite good. But not really fast. I did ask the owner for a room and got a really nice one with the best view on that trip! Later we went for a walk and then the boys had to continue the trip towards Shimla. Sandra did decide to take a break so she got her back and we did share the room.

There is not really a lot to do so you relax, take in the view. Have food at the hotel – which was AMAZING!! And take walks in the day. For breakfast and dinner you did meet most of the foreigners in the village in our hotel. Nobody did find a better place to eat. Great!
