Update from the Beach in Gokarna

Update from the Beach

After a few very cold days in Bodh Gaya (which is a few minutes away from Gaya where they had record lows – global warming…) it was time to move on to the beach. A taxi, a bus, another taxi, a plane, another plane, a taxi, a bus and another plane later i was finally here: Gokarna. A lot of tourists for my taste but more or less the same people. Lots of hippies, bonfires with music at night, beach cows and good food. Most of the chefs are from Nepal and you can taste. The menu is quite international – a bit less Indian food but enough other stuff to make up for. Italian, Israeli and Seafood mostly. I had the best Pizza on this trip right here. Prices are quite ok – the bungalow (which I share with a girl from Israel) is 5 € which is quite expensive. A big bottle of Beer (630 ml) is between 1.70 to 1.90, food between 0,60 to 2,80 for a dish.

Efrat is here since a few months – so i do know all her friends now, Dee and Gerben did arrive yesterday, Chris (did meet him the last time in Rishikesh) is here for more than a month and i did meet a few cool ppl in the last 2 days on top of that.
Tonight we want to make a BBQ – hope we find some fresh fish later in town.
Look like I am stuck here for a few weeks. The plan is to go to Hampi later and then Delhi to fly home. Still 6 weeks to go – but time flies when you have fun!
