{"id":4033,"date":"2016-04-02T12:31:19","date_gmt":"2016-04-02T11:31:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/blog\/?p=4033"},"modified":"2019-02-14T12:01:25","modified_gmt":"2019-02-14T11:01:25","slug":"kon-tum-to-kham-duc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/blog\/kon-tum-to-kham-duc\/","title":{"rendered":"From  Kon Tum  to Kh\u00e2m \u0110\u1ee9c"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A hot morning in Kon Tum &#8211; the clock 60360 km &#8211; next destination Kh\u00e2m \u0110\u1ee9c.<br \/>\nThe next few hundred kilometres ahead was the scene of some of the fiercest battles of the \u2018American War\u2019 (as the Vietnam War is called here). That is more than 40 years ago but you can still see some of the scars of the bombs that were dropped here. There are war memorials and war cemeteries along the road. But that is the past and the new Vietnam is looking forward. <br \/>The young people wear western outfits, have US flags on the bikes and listen to western music. The pass down their customs and traditions here and every village or town has one. They are building many new ones now in the villages that I passed. Comes with AC, fridge, TV, chairs, table, closet and hot shower. Went to the market and got some fruits, beer and 2 Banh Mi.
