{"id":954,"date":"2010-02-15T09:45:41","date_gmt":"2010-02-15T08:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/blog\/?p=954"},"modified":"2017-10-02T16:11:04","modified_gmt":"2017-10-02T15:11:04","slug":"kalaw-mandalay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/blog\/kalaw-mandalay\/","title":{"rendered":"From Kalaw to Mandalay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"428\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I was still waiting &#8211; and so was he<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"438\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka2.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"430\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka3.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"361\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka4.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"407\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As the sun was going to leave this part of the world for a few hours i climbed up to the temple on the hill &#8211; and it was full of dogs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka5.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"499\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka6.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Good night Kalaw &#8211; only 2 more hours till the bus&#8230;<br \/>I told the woman i want to go with the new company &#8211; with the new bus &#8211; the good one! Well she put me in the bus from hell &#8211; so no sleep till Brooklyn and for sure no sleep till Mandalay. At the bus station in Mandalay I found a Trisha driver that pedaled me for 70 minutes to my guest house. Finally in the bed at 5.20 in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka7.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p>After the quite days hiking and at the Lake Inlay this was a culture shock. Cars, trucks, buses and everywhere noise noise noise &#8211; other than in Yangon where motorcycles are not allowed &#8211; here they try to catch up with Saigon and Hanoi.<br \/>So I was not really pleased with the start of the 1st day here.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka8.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka9.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka10.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"363\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hastenteufel.name\/pix\/2010\/w\/ka11.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" alt=\"Myanmar\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Good old Mrs. Show &#8211; when I was 1st here 10 years ago she was here as well :-)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was still waiting &#8211; and so was he As the sun was going to leave this part of the world for a few hours i climbed up to the temple on the hill &#8211; and it was full of dogs.
