Athens to Stuttgart Road Trip Part 5 – From Neraida to Agios Germanos

Neraida

Neraida in the offseason. We were the only guests at our hotel and probably the only ones in the town. So it was quite in the night – I love the offseason! There was no breakfast at the hotel, so we took off and continued towards our next destination.

We stopped for breakfast in Kastoria. After that, we walked a bit along the lake.

Winter is coming – they enjoy the last few nice days

It looks very peaceful but the city is behind me, and so is all the traffic and the people

We walked a bit along the lake to stretch our legs

The bigger one is shared between Albania, Greece, and the Republic of Macedonia. The small one is only shared between Greece and Albania.

We tried to get all the way out to see the two other countries

But we only got to here, so there is the Republic of Macedonia on the other side :-)

Hungry cat – and not only was she hungry – Mitsos was hungry as well!

Small Prespa Lake

Agios Germanos

Our destination for the night is today. A small village at the end of the road. We stayed at the Agios Germanos Traditional Hotel. I can only recommend this small hotel. Food was excellent and so was the room!

The old houses are built with wood and clay

If they had more money, they used to build more of the house with stones

Some have the wall on the side built with stones all the way to the roof

This one does not look too bad

Some of them are lucky! The new owner fixed this one up again

One of the few built with stones on every side. Guess that is why it survived so far

Agios Germanos is all the way up the mountains where the road ends. It is a quite place

I wonder if the hills were green at some point
