Good Bye Lonji
After 3 nights it was time to move on down from this nice place. Delphine went down into the valley and i crossed over to the other valley. Great – nobody and nothing. You hear only some birds, the tranquil sound of water and you own footsteps!
Than the dream was over – i reached the other valley and the village there. No more smiling chinese tourists and locals. A kind of shopping center for trash in the mountains. I even saw the stupid wood frog that they sell in Bangkok!
Went down to the bus stop and entered a tourist bus. They took me for 40 all the way to the train station in guilin with only one stop.
The bus stopped at a Yao village for a stupid show. Only 2 of the westerners went in the rest stayed outside. There was a little shop on the other side and they sold the coldest beer in china – great after that long hike!!!
The owner is 83 and did show me his pictures and than a friend of his showed so we had some communication with hand and feet. Than this woman was very interested in conversation too – to bad i was without a chinese translator…
Than a boy wanted to show me his home – that is where he, his parents and grandmother live.
Quite an empty place…. There is only one small sleeping room with a closet in the back.
I love your pictures! You like to travel like I do. Get on a bus and go. I prefer the villages and the people there to the cities. I had to laugh at your stupid wooden frog LOL
