Day three of my short trip to the US. You find day one here and day two here.

Today I had a nice circle in mind: from Mukwonago to Libertyville where I had the next hotel. With stops in Geneva and Lake Como as well. Let’s go cruise!

Rodeway Inn Mukwonago

Woke up very early again – used the nice shower at the Rodeway Inn Mukwonago – the best shower cabin in years. The pictures of the room are in the day two post. Made my coffee and took a walk to the breakfast room of the hotel. Well – I took a Bagel back to the room.

A few years ago – in 2008 – Gary Wallem bought Pete’s Tire Service and build a place where he can store some of his historic cars and other collectibles. He even has a tire used in Mario Andretti’s 1969 Indianapolis 500 winning race – a present from Andretti himself. Now that is what I call a proper man cave!

After my short trip to Switzerland and Italy, it was time for some “Shopping Mall” – at last once I had to go. How convenient – Welcome To Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets! And they are on the way to the hotel! Was checking the Nike Factory Outlet for shoes in my size – nope. After that, I went to three more stores with no luck either so I went back to the car.

NowI was hungry – time for a snack. Found a nice bench at Lake Michigan and was super happy! The sun was out for a bit and the waves rolled nicely against the stones. Great soundtrack for my lunch break.

Gurnee Mills Mall

Ok let’s call it a day and drive to the hotel – upps not so fast – saw a big outdoor store at the ‎⁨Gurnee Mills Mall⁩ in ⁨Gurnee⁩. That needs to be inspected. Found nothing that I need or the price tag was not what I want to pay for the item.

That looks like a cheap rifle but actually it is a quite good one. Guess you will not find a better one for that kind of money.

At Home Marijuana Drug Test? At the outdoor store?

Candlewood Suites in Libertyville

For my last night, I booked the Candlewood Suites in Libertyville. The hotel is less than 30 minutes from O’Hare International Airport and that is where I have to bring the car tomorrow. It was the same money as the hotel last night but should come with all the bells and whistles. Lets check in!

The room at the Candlewood Suites in ‎⁨Libertyville. Comes with a comfortable bed and a nice comfy seat next to it to watch some TV. You have a chair to work and a chair to eat as well.

The kitchen is loaded. The fridge was a bit noisy so I turned it off. The only thing I needed was icold beers so I left them in the freezer for a bit.

Office to use for free. They have board games or other stuff for the kitchen to lend as well. I saw rice cookers, cocktail shakers, and what now. Great place if you do not want to stay downtown Chicago. And I am sure you are much quicker at the airport as well – compared to downtown.

Now I can toast my bread :-)

The next day I filled the car and returned it – exactly 600 km more on the clock. Took the shuttle back to the airport and the plane home to Stuttgart again. No pictures for you!
