A long weekend in Nauders
What better to end the European travel season than a trip to the mountains? We went to Nauders in Austria. There is a little hut from the Deutscher Alpenverein which you can rent. It sleeps about 12 people but we like to go with 3 or 4 only. Enough to enjoy the place. There is a wood fired cooking oven that does also heat the house. And only about 15 minutes to walk from the car park. It is kind of remote so almost nobody will disturb you up here.
The cabin high over Nauders in the mountains. There is a table in front of it so one can enjoy the sun and the warm wood to rest your back. Nice place for a glass of wine or a cold brew after a day of trekking.
The view from the balcony in the morning sun. The yellow is so bright – the trees should be yellow all year-long.

Just hanging around
Tired of hanging around
Another morning – looks like Kaiserwetter like the locals would call it. Blue sky and sunshine :-)
The yellow and green together with snow and blue sky – unreal!
Enjoy the sun while hanging around
Almost above the clouds. What a day!
How much longer?
Back to the house for some R&R
In that case rest & red wine!
Last day in the mountains
Across from the car park – guess we will be back!
