Athens to Stuttgart Road Trip Part 5 – From Neraida to Agios Germanos
Neraida
Neraida in the offseason. We were the only guests at our hotel and probably the only ones in the town. So it was quite in the night – I love offseason! There was no breakfast at the hotel so we took off and continued towards our next destination.
View from the balcony
View from the balcony towards the village square
Along the square
Nice paint job
Hmmm….
On the Road again
Old Mercedes truck in Vathylakkos
Close to Neapoli
Kastoria
We stopped for breakfast in Kastoria. After that, we walked a bit along the lake.
View over the lake in Kastoria
Some old war thing in monument
Hello Pretty
Fishing boat at the lake
Winter is coming – they enjoy the last few nice days
It looks very peacefully but the city is behind me and so is all the traffic and the people
We walked a bit along the lake to stretch the legs
Nice colours
From the good old times when they had an Eagle with two heads on the shield to automatic weapons
Of course he needs to be here as well
Let’s get moving!
On the E86 outside of Prespes
Mountains, blue sky and a few white clouds
Prespa Lake
The bigger one is shared between Albania, Greece, and the Republic of Macedonia. The small one is only shared between Greece and Albania.
Small Prespa Lake.
Prespa Lake – kind of the Golden Triangele down here
Prespa Lake
Back from fishing
We tried to get all the way out to see the two other countries
But we only got to here – so there is the Republic of Macedonia on the other side :-)
Hungry cat – and not only she was hungry – Mitsos was hungry as well!
Nice lunch
Mitsos – not hungry anymore. Time to hit the road again.
Small Prespa Lake
Agios Germanos
Our destination for the night today. A small village at the end of the road. We stayed at the Agios Germanos Traditional Hotel. I can only recommend this small hotel. Food was excellent and so was the room!
Town center Agios Germanos
Evening stroll in Agios Germanos
The old houses are build with wood and clay
Id they had more money they used to build more of the house with stones
Some have the wall on the side build with stones all the way to the roof
This one looks not too bad
Some of them are lucky! The new owner fixed this one up again
One of the few build with stones on every side. Guess that is why it survived so far
Agios Germanos is all the way up the mountains where the road ends. It is a quite place.
I wonder if the hills where green at some point
Agios Germanos Traditional Hotel
His favourite past time besides diving
