Athens to Stuttgart Road Trip Part 4 – Kalabaka⁩ and Meteora

March 8, 2018 at 06:56

After our party evening, we had a good nights rest and some coffee in the morning. After that, we hit the mountains behind Kalabaka to see the Meteora rocks and the monasteries up there. In the early 9th century monks started to stay in the caves there. It took another 500 years and they started to build the monasteries. The first woman who was ever allowed to enter one was Queen Marie of Romania in 1921. More information: Wikipedia

Athens to Stuttgart Road Trip Part 3 – Athens to Kalabaka⁩

February 24, 2018 at 11:47

After a few lazy days in Athens, it was time to hit the road. The car is old and the seats really shitty. There was no music only the radio – and no way to connect the iPhone. And even if – Mitsos has one of the worst tastes in music there is. So that part of the trip was horrible. The good part of the trip: Landscape – lots of it out there and we had blue sky for almost all the trip! On top of that, it was off-season so no tourists and since we took the small back roads not a lot of traffic. Great!

Italy declared war to Greece after its denial to let Italian troops pass the land. One of the greatest battles was from 9th to the 26th of March 1941 and it was for the “Hill 731” located 20 Kilometres north of Kleisoura at Tepeleni Albania.
