A visit to the Sultanahmet Mosque or Blue Mosque in Istanbul
The Sultanahmet Mosque is the one where all the tourists go. And it is worth it – but than do not miss and visit the other big ones as well. The Sultanahmet Mosque or Blue Mosque is very impressive from the outside and great from the inside. Built from 1609 to 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I it is still used as a mosque – that became one of the biggest tourist attractions of Istanbul. But the other big ones are much quieter so you should go there too for the vibe!
Did pick the worst time of the day – on a friday on top of that. Right after the midday prayer – the longest line of visitors in the week!
Guess it is from the good old time and than they could not do better but all that wires really do spoil the view up
The whole room is high but with the low lights it feels like you are pressed down – somehow…
