Annapurna Trekking – Moving up the trail
There was a kind of advertising for this little village next to the main trail. Why not go up there and have a look. Guess not to many tourists do that as it is quite a steep mountain and a few 100 meters extra to climb. Well up there things where a bit different as the whold village where on the roofs and did prepare for winter. In all the other villages the harvest would be prepared or dried on the floor but here everything was done on the roofs. Quite worth a detour!
Fuck you Mao – i can agree with that – did not meet one that was happy with the 10 years of maoist insurgency.
Good morning mountain. Had a great evening in the guest house. This was the 2nd (and last one on this trek) where i was the only guest. I went straight for the kitchen after shower and laundry. There was the daughter of the house and the 15 year old kitchen girl. She works for 5 months in the season here and lives 6 day walks away. Still her English was quite good so the 3 of us had quite a laugh and they did cook great food. Later the owner of the GH and a monk came as well as one of the local winos. Turned out that this place was the local distillery for Roxy! Well what can one do when he is at the source? Had 3 big ones and a good night sleep!!
Opps – Good Morning Vietnam!
No wonder more ‘vegetarians’ nowadays!
Maybe I’ll seriously consider being one myself!
