High Camp – 4800+ meters. Stars stars stars – but it was cold! I woke up and wanted to drink some water – it was frozen solid in the room. Quick to the restaurant and some hot tea. Than we did wait till there was sun at the trail. 9 am – sun is here – lets roll. Took me 3 hours to the highest point: 5416m. To take a picture of the pass you go a bit higher – but lets say this was the 2nd time i was over 5400. I did overtake some idiots that start at 3 in the morning (freeeezing cold!!!!) 45 minutes lower than my hotel. It is as dark as inside a yak – and as cold as in your ice box – wtf is the point??
Oh – yes they had a guide – that was in a hurry I guess. So I could move with only a T-shirt. Had to put on a jacket on the top of course – everybody was there – the boys from the us – the Russians, the English, the artists from London, the Frogs, my new friend from NYC. The Russians had genuine duty-free whiskey and cognac – and they did share as well as the Americans with their local booze. Than you walk down for hours and reach the 1st village – motorbikes, truck and jeeps – that was it!
Cheers Nepal – I had a really good time!!

Back from Tilicho Lake towards the Pass
Landscape changes a lot at the treck – this one is quite interesting.
On the left you can see the 2 Frenchies – gives you and idea about proportions.
Mr. Yak in autumn colours – quite trendy for up here!
Still a bit of moon to see.
Some houses had still locks on the doors. Guess in the summer they sleep here when they have their animals up at the slopes.
Again a few birds that know i had the wrong lens on the camera.
Now we only need a nice spot to climb up to the path on the left…
It is cold up here.
To Tilicho Lake – Side Trip on the Annapurna Trek
Tilicho lake is one of the highest lakes in the world. It is 4,949 m or 4919 m high in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas in the Manang district of Nepal. You have to cover more than 1100 meters up to get to the lake from Tilicho Base camp.
Did start before 6 in the morning. It was quite cold and still dark. The moon gave enough light so it was easy to follow the trek. I was quite happy when the sun creped round the mountains. The only time i used my gloves and i was really happy about my hat as well.
The only time i did really felt like being high up in the mountains. As far as you can see – only snow. This was quite worth the hike up here.
