At the Lisu Wedding

I went with a few friends to a Lisu Wedding last week. We got there a bit late so we could not see the whole ceremony but it is mostly talking and i do not understand a word anyhow. The grand finale is than sharing a drink and married you are!
The girl is 17 and the guy 18 – apparently the parents did catch them when they where making love together – 3 days later the wedding took place – shotgun style. They killed a pig and have a big pot of vegetables with it. Lots of beer, mixers and rice whiskey to go with it. I did not want to go into the little room where they had the ceremony as the other guy was doing a video. So there is only one picture.

The bride wears black and sits on the left side of the groom which went for brown today. To bad the young ppl do not wear the traditional cloths any more – not even for their own wedding…
