The Big Buddha in Phuket

After the other tourists arrived for the New Year Party it was time for some serious tourism. So we cruise to see the Big Buddha statue that is still under construction up here on a hill in Phuket. And guess what – there are better things to do than take pictures of the statue. Lots of monkeys there so i used most of my time to snap them.

You can buy a tile and write on it – it will later be used in the building. Still lots of memories and blessings for people that died in the tsunami a few years ago

Before i forget it – the Big Buddha

Last evening of the year. And sure enough i had an accident with the bike. A girl did not see me – strange enough – and cut into my lane. With Gerben at the back and the not so good brakes i crashed into her front wheel. A few scratches on the bike and us – nothing more. Than to the beach for a last swim – well i stayed clear of the sand with my bleeding toe.
