Trekking in the Allgäuer Alps – Day Two
Yes – get up in the middle of the night girls and make some noise. We managed to be almost the first at the breakfast table. I will never understand!
Since I offered to take food, wine and beer up the mountain they gave me most of it. Together with the camera gear it was over 20 kg. If I would not have been to the Himalayas a few days ago – never would I be able to walk with all that stuff up the mountains. Since we fixed some of the food, the wine and some beer yesterday I had to carry some other stuff from the guys. Looks like I am a porter now!
It was not raining so we decided. Steiner decided to move further up the mountain. Now you also know why the House is called Rappensee Hütte – because it is next to Rappen Lake.
And than the sun did try to break the clouds.
Still happy girls
Looks like the sun lost that battle.
At the wrong place at the wrong time. Even it was a winter with not a lot of snow the 4 guys managed to be here just in time when an avalanche took them.
The start of the Heilbronner Weg. Sure-footedness, alpine experience and vertigo freedom beyond that sign! And I might add – it is much better when it does not rain, when there is no strong wind and on top of that – when you have a view!!
The easy part – up hill
Take a look at some pictures from the last trip. So you will see what we did not!
There are some parts of the way when you are happy to have the steel rope. Even more when it is wet and slippery. But than there are some parts where they did not put one – and they do look way more dangerous than some where not even your grandmother would need the rope.
Hello there
Yeti does stay here in the summer!
When we reached the hotel we had about 20 minutes of sunshine. So we did have a nice cold beer in the sun and where looking forward to a great sunny afternoon. Than we put the bags in the room and had one more beer at our converted balcony when the rain came down like nothing else. It was poring for most of the evening and night.
The next day we went to this place for a last beer before the Autobahn
