Finally my driver did arrive. To bad he was 10 days late. So we have to keep the trip short. The car is running sweet and soft. The sky is blue and the road does never end!

A nice day trip with the ferry boat from Istanbul to the islands. Büyükada is the biggest of the Prince Islands and the boat ride alone is worth the trip. And than a nice walk over the islands. So many of the wood houses are going south. Still a lot that are in good shape…

Nieuwendammerdijk is a dyke or dam in the Northern IJdijk between Buiksloot and Schellingwoude. On my way from the camp ground to Amsterdam down town I crossed it to get to the ferry. Nieuwendam founded in 1514 after one of the dykes broke. At the time the dyke lay between the IJ river and fields….
