The Wet Market in the Old Quarter of Hội An

The best time of the day to visit the Old Quarter is late afternoon. Make sure to pass by the wet market and look for a spot to sit for a while. Selling and shopping is still done like 20 years ago. On the floor or at stalls along the road or under the tin roof of a simple hall. You come with your bicycle or motorbike to shop and you will not park it to do that. You simply drive along the goods and choose what you need.
Shopping Asia Style!

Hoi An Wet Market
It looks like a street with a lot of traffic but they are all here to do their shopping – not to get from A to B

Mostly fruits and vegetables are sold but you will find meat and seafood as well

They have a speaker with music playing so everybody knows that they are coming. A lot of the woman’s that sell here at the market did get something from the man. Nice to see that they do support each other.

Just behind the hall is the river where the boats stop and unload the fish

Almost all of the old market hall is converted to small food places for the tourists now. At the back are a few shops that sell souvenirs and a few that sell dry goods.

Shopping is not easy if you have to take the baby with you

This is an interesting construction – the Vietnamese bike baby seat – but it works somehow!
